If we are going to lead our life with the goal of being significant rather than just successful it requires changing our approach to money, time, and talent. I remember my life for so long was all about making money to get secure. Money doesn’t provide significance in our life unless it’s put towards initiatives that have impact.
My life changed once I implemented the idea of leading decisions and choices with giving. The more I take inventory on my life in this way the more excited I get for where I put my effort, time, and talent.
My goal and filter is this: Spend as much time building memories with the family and meting our needs. Spend time working on products and launches that create impact and give to others.
I’ve compiled the following questions that I use to refine my decisions:
- Have I reduced my expenses as much as possible to give myself a raise? What can I cut out to create more dollars?
- Where can I create additional revenue with bite sized launches or experiments?
- What ideas or launches can I create that don’t require start up money? Can I do pre-orders and take orders off of one sample item?
- What juices my heart when it comes to giving? Where does my heart light up? Hunger? Orphans? Abuse? Etc.
- Am I reducing my expenses while looking for ways to generate money? Don’t try to hoard and keep the money you have, look for ways to make more.
- Am I focusing more on what I am not more than what I want to be?
- Even if $5.00 a month or whatever is in your list, how can generosity become a part of your wiring and brand DNA?
- When it comes to money, are you trying to be a controller or are you working to become a distributor?
May your week blessed and fruitful. Focus not on where you’ve been but on who you are becoming and where you are going. You can’t pick your past but you can paint your future!
