Module #15: The Art of Effective Blogging – Blueprint

One of the greatest ways to connect with our audience is through storytelling of ourselves. No matter where you are in life, your story is powerful tool to be a solution for someones life. Our blog is one of the key ways to connect. More important, if social media was to go down, your blog and site would be all you have to stand on. Your site and blog is the one thing you can stand on secure. The key is to write and share content that is sharable. Attached is the blueprint for the Art of Effective Blogging. I have compiled what I believe to be essential strategies and a check list for you to use when you write. I’m looking forward to seeing and reading the content you dream and launch. Remember: The key to creating a following is consistent blogging with stories that help people.

Checklist to consider when writing and construction your blog:

1. Why am I writing this? What is the goal? Who do I want to help?

2. Make sure each paragraph is scannable by keeping them brief and 3-4 sentences. Don’t be longwinded.

3. Make sure you start with a story that happened. People will remember your story more than anything.

4. Make sure to hyperlink key words to other posts in your website. If this blog your writing talks about mentorship, have the word mentorship link to an old post.

5. Have the beginning of the post start with story, then present the problem and then you provide the solution.

6. Finish the post with a call to action asking a question they can answer with comment below.

7. Make sure to pick a headline or topic that will compel the reader to be disrupted enough to click your headline.

8. Once posted on your blog, visit Noah U Facebook Page and let everyone know about it. Ask them to leave a comment.

9. Copy the URL of your post. Post it into twitter to drive people to your blog.

10. Copy the URL of your post. Post it into Facebook to drive people to your blog.

11. Take a picture with your phone of the computer screen showing your blog. Post this picture on instagram. Change your profile link in instagram to the URL of your blog. That way followers can click the link to go to your site. Make sure you have in your comment on instagram something like : Hey everyone, my newest blog post is up and I write about (topic). read the rest of the story by CLICKING LINK IN PROFILE.

12. Make sure to use a photo in your post. Does the pic compel me to click to read? You can use istockphoto.com or other stock photography sites to pay a small fee for an image. These images will be crucial to being “on brand” with your overall look and feel.

13. Use a social media share plug in such as Shareaholic so that people can repost the content. Even more important, make sure the plug in has your “repost” content already worded for your viewers.

14. Search Engine Optimization – SEO is a very important aspect of blogging. It’s the way to optimize your post so more people see it. It can be daunting to understand but here’s an article to help with that. SEO Article.

5 Things to remember when blogging.

1. What are my top 5 favorite subjects that I like to write about? Are these topics in my about page? Refer to my about Noah page.

2. In my about page do I say how often I will write?

3. What is the purpose of this blog post? Will it be timeless and stand the test of time?

4. Can the content I write be a solution to helping someone?

5. Do I have a call to action?
